Looks like a few people have started arriving to the party. Welcome!
If you have an online presence, such as a blog or mySpace or Live Journal or some-other-newfangled-website-thing, please consider mentioning Share The Truth! The influence of a community increases exponentially with respect to the amount of members involved.
So please help out if you can. And if you do, feel free to post a link to your site here, so we can visit you, too.
1. Idea for those of you making donations: Post a quick ad in the "free stuff" section of your local craigslist.org community saying that you're offering free tickets through sharethetruth.us.
2. After this movie leaves the theatres, you could switch the focus to buying people DVDs, or the book (it's a lot like the movie, check it out!)...
3. Your idea of free movie screenings is something I would like to do, too.
I'm so excited to find other people who feel this movie is as Earth-shaking as I do.
There is so much to change, in so many areas. I would like to invite interested parties to join us at wechange.org, and lead a project for change, whatever the topic.
I hope you will want to join us, there, to lead a group on global warming, peak oil, or whatever topic motivates you. :)
I have many interests. Like I say in my profile ( http://www.wechange.org/user/2 ), I am interested in anything that can help make our society and our planet a better place to live... or to survive! But I cannot cover all the topics in depth. That's why cooperation with like-minded websites and inviting other people to join us is important to me: cooperating for change is the operative phrase, here. :)
In any case, you are already doing great and you inspire me to continue in my efforts.
Hey Everyone! I'm in the process of recieving tickets from Eric for myself and family to see on friday. Everyone seems to have a tight budget, but I feel that this is just too important to miss. I've been getting as many people involved as possible. I've posted the movie trailer on my myspace and posted bullitens for others. I can't wait to see the movie, and help others to see it as well. visit my page at www.myspace.com/desireesaunar to watch the trailer!
I posted a link to this forum on http://democraticunderground.com/discuss in a thread that posted how to sign up for a free DVD. Hopefully others will see it and pass the word on.
We rented "An Inconvenient Truth". My 12-year-old daughter was stunned and very upset by it. Yet at the end we found such hope in things we could do. She did her science project on using compact fluorescent bulbs over incandescent ones. Then she told her teacher about the movie. He had not seen it but he promised her he would check it out. Her teacher not only rented the movie, but he then got together with two other teachers to propose a showing of it at her school. Three classrooms of sixth graders have watched the show this week and I am very proud of my daughter. I have posted on several internet sites about the movie and my daughter plans on continuing to spread the word.
Wow Miriama59 - that's an excellent idea. I think the best way to get this out would be to target the youngins. They're at the most impressionable age. They learn now, and they'll teach forever. I think we should each target a school near our area and offer to donate a copy of the DVD so that kids of all grades can have a movie day during science class and spread the word around.
